I just got word that I need to have UNT file a deficiency plan on my behalf. Has anyone else had to do this? I was wondering if there are several of us, would it be possible to have UNT create a generic deficiency plan?
I would follow Glen's advise. I haven't gotten any word, but I am assuming since I am already certified I should be okay. I did renew my certification this year because it was up....
I was hired as an all level teacher --- hired before the grant and did not think I would ever go back to school. I am curious to know what you find out so that I can let my principal know.
If you're moving to a library job, you will need to file the deficiency plan since you won't be a certified librarian for sometime. For those folks who are already certified, they're in the clear. It's the rest of us who are in the middle of the degree without certification. Hope that helps!
You definitely want to have the title "Librarian" on record, so you do not fall under PDAS/MPDAS. Librarians have their own apprisal system. Did you already know that?
..in my record/aspire, they classified me as multigrade teacher...but they used hlas (not mpdas) for my appraisal...will that create a problem for me later on???
i emailed barbara schultz-jones about the deficiency plan..she said unt does that for us..no need to worry..
i'm confused
:-(
what is hlas? is that the librarian's appraisal? as far as the title, i'm not sure...i was muti-grade, then when i got certified it was changed to librarian. I would ask Janice maybe?
I'm curious to know what they do for us? What if we are already serving in a library position? Do we still need to contact them? I am classified as multigrade teacher as well and I am not appraised with mpdas. Has anyone emailed Janice?
ms. newsum is going to my school today (to fix server/save data..something...) i'll ask her..
when i emailed the folks at unt...i asked if i needed to do anything...fill out something..they said no...maybe email them?
hlas is librarian appraisal...im not certified librarian...shouldn't i have mpdas?...i'll ask janice...
Well Shonda,
it appears that the site is more for youth literature. . .
Not the sort of adult dramatic fiction I'm looking for...
Thanks for the link - it appears to be a fun spot for looking for books.

Got this off the ListServ:
I'm not sure if this has been posted before but for those who don't remember
(or can't remember)....the Internet Public Library has a great Pathfinder to
help with those books that we just can't seem to recall. It's called…
