Hello everyone!

I just wanted to invite y'all to the Long Family Literacy Night on Thursday, Feb. 12. The program starts at 6pm, then you can either attend some TAKS sessions (ahh!) or come have a snack in the library.

I hope some of you can make it!

I hope you had a great night. Share with us the highlights! My literacy wants to host a book swap event. Have you had experience with used book trading? It sounds like a great way to get books into kids hands for the summer maybe? any thoughts Libbers?

We had a really good turnout and it was a lot of fun. Two students who won the library's poetry contest (one song & one poem) were able to perform and a spoken word poet presented before parents broke up into 2 TAKS sessions where they learned about ways to help their kids at home. I'll post the website with the pics later.

I haven't done a book swap event....but it sounds cool! We still have discarded books on a cart by the door we've been trying to get rid of. Let me know how it turns out if y'all have the event.

Got this off the ListServ: I'm not sure if this has been posted before but for those who don't remember (or can't remember)....the Internet Public Library has a great Pathfinder to help with those books that we just can't seem to recall. It's called…
