Hello everyone,
I am looking for a book about the US presidential election. It was probably published in the late 60s or early 70s. The plot entails a candidate who promises full employment, unification of the country in a common goal, and the end of slums and poverty in the big cities across the country. A reporter is curious about how the candidate expects to pull it all off. . . the plot thickens as the facts are uncovered and the truth comes to light. This candidate always wears white as well as a white cowboy hat...

At first, I thought it was The Man ... nope, not it.
Then I looked for The Candidate ... not that one either, I don't think.

Anyone have any ideas?
Any leads to a spot where I can do a thorough keywords search?
One would think a librarian would know these things. . . like the plot in the book, the facts may surprise... (grin)

Until that time. . . Earl J.

Got this off the ListServ:
I'm not sure if this has been posted before but for those who don't remember
(or can't remember)....the Internet Public Library has a great Pathfinder to
help with those books that we just can't seem to recall. It's called:
"Half-Remembered Children's Books: Search Strategies." It would be a great
link to add to the library's website and to share with teachers (and other
adults) who often ask you about a book written a LONG time ago---or maybe
just recently. I loved the systematic approach to remembering the title of
a half-remembered book....

Enjoy!

Well Shonda,
it appears that the site is more for youth literature. . .
Not the sort of adult dramatic fiction I'm looking for...

Thanks for the link - it appears to be a fun spot for looking for books.

Until that time. . . Earl J.
